Hurri-Bolt Top Plate System
Installation Instruction Summary

  1. Wet set Hurri-Bolt Cast in Place Anchors (HBA) with 3" of thread above the foundation 1-3/4" from the edge of the slab minimum as plumb as possible.

  1. Install a 2" x 1/8" Hurri-Bolt Square Sill Plate Washer (HBSS) and a 1/2" Hurri-Bolt Hex Nut (HBN) on the HBA and tighten to secure the Sill Plate.

  1. Attach a Hurri-Bolt Coupling Nut (HBC) to the HBA. The positive stop in the HBC prevents the coupler from over running the center.

  1. Install a Hurri-Bolt 6’ Smooth Rod (HBR) to the HBC. Attach an HBC to the end of the HBR and continue alternating until the top rod is reached.

  1. The Hurri-Bolt Top Rod (HBT) is furnished in 6' lengths to accommodate varying Top Plate heights. Cut the HBT so that a minimum of 1" protrudes above the Top Plate. An angle grinder with an abrasive cut off wheel is recommended for cutting and buffing the rod to restore the thread profile.

  1. Finally, the 2-1/2" x 3/16" Hurri-Bolt Square Top Plate Washer (HBST) and HBN are threaded on to the HBT anchoring the Top Plate all the way to the foundation. Before the ceiling gypsum is installed and after the roofing material and drywall is loaded into the building the top HBN should be retightened to account for settling and to preload the building.

*Hurri Bolt Epoxy Stud (HBE) Alternative: In the event an HBA is put in an unusable position an HBE can be substituted. Follow the manufacturer instructions on the Hurri-Bolt Epoxy (HB10, HB22) precisely. HBE anchors can be installed after framing is erected to avoid problems with incorrect bolt placement or framing changes.
