Hurri-Bolt Top-Plate Tie-Down
vs.
The Competition

Our
coupling nuts are manufactured with a positive stop in
the middle. This prevents the rods from over running the
center which could lead to failure. With the
competition's coupler, there is no way to tell if the
rods are properly engaged. It is the positive stop found in our couplers that allows you to tighten the rods from the top floor using an 11/16ths socket on a drill motor. As each rod bottoms out on the stop, it turns the rod below all the way to the foundation. This means quicker installation as the rods need only be minimally engaged before tightening. |

Our coupling nuts can be inspected visually. Because we only thread an inch on each end of our rods, 3/10th's of an inch protrudes from both ends of a correctly engaged coupling nut. Inspectors can quickly and accurately check the engagement of our coupling nuts at a glance. |

We manufacture a smooth rod so cable, telephone, electrical, and control lines aren't damaged when pulled through walls containing Hurri-Bolt Rods. Our competitors all thread product can shred the insulation off lines causing hard to find faults inside the walls. |

With
our 6' rod length installation in walls with midblocking
is a snap. As you can see, the 6' rod length easily
slides into the holds drilled into the top plates and
down through the mid blocking. Our rods come bundle 20 to
a bundle--61 lbs. ea. This makes them easy to transport
inside your structure. Our competitors rods come in 8', 10' and 12' lengths. Installation into walls with mid-blocking is difficult. With a 9' ceiling a 12' rod is called for to keep the coupler out of the floor space. The 12' requires a second person on the upper floor to in order to thread through the 2nd story mid-blocking. The 12' rod would require extreme flexing of the rod to insert it. This leads to permanent deformation. |
